Kate Nelson's show, Swimming Home, opens this Saturday. Kate will be here from 6 to 8pm for a gallery reception on Saturday (8/30) and then the show will continue through September 12.
Kate's artistic path is varied and ever-changing - like the path of the outgoing tide on Brewster flats. She holds degrees in pre-medicine and art form the University of Massachusetts, where she was influenced by Chuck Close nad Keith Hollingworth. Kate has done post-graduate work at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and at Cape Cod Conservatory. Formerly the principal of a graphic design firm Kate now devotes herself to abstract, non-representational painting and printmaking.
