The Seventh Annual Wellfleet Oyster Fest is this weekend - October 13 & 14. It's grown every year and is positively not to be missed.

We're doing our bit by featuring lots of extra oysterness at the galleries. We're especially happy to introduce Emily Hiestand's pigment print photographs:

The shells photographed in this series belong to oysters from Wellfleet Bay and the series' title, "Consider the Oyster" is a nod to MFK Fisher's classic 1941 book about the humble bivalve. The photographs were made in ambient morning and afternoon light; the luminosity comes from the shells themselves. You can see more on our website.

In addition to Emily's oysters, we'll have sterling silver oyster jewelry by Jesse Mia Horowitz, ceramic oysters by Allison Evans, prints by Rosalie Nadeau, and chocolate oysters from the Wellfleet Candy Company

Hope to see you out and about!

Audrey - so good to hear from you. Still haven't made it out from Seattle to Wellfleet...someday. We have had more than one customer come into our store Click!, wearing Smersh Design jewelry that they bought from Left Bank - love that! Another serendipitus thing...we are on the email list of a fabulously energetic musician named Zoe Lewis who will be playing at at Oysterfest!...
...joined by an amazing band:Lisa Brown, Roxanne
Layton, Karl Hoyt, Bruce Abbott and Alex Pashoian!
Catch us just before the GRAND SHUCK OFF.
Also, shows for kids: Sat at noon and Sun at 3pm
...check her out if you can.

I love oysters!

Hi Frances-
I'm so glad your jewelry is migrating back and forth across the country!

And of course you know Zoe - do I remember that you're friends with Kate? We were there at Zoe's show - we took Lucy and Simon.

Small darn world.
